The Dockers’ Union of Barcelona (OEPB-Coordinadora), on behalf of 1.200 dockworkers, expresses its full solidarity with comrade Erik Helgesson, vice-president of the Swedish Dockers’ Union, who has been informed by the company managing the port of Gothenburgof its intention to dismiss him.

The employer’s decision comes in retaliation for a strike widely supported by the union to block the transport of military equipment to and from Israel.

Attacks and intimidation targeting the working class are intensifying around the world, with the aim of breaking international solidarity and silencing support for the Palestinian people.

The quest for peace clashes with the economic interests and walike strategies of the elites.Faced with this, the working class responds with its internationalist solidarity, its commitment to peace and its firm will to refuse any complicity in genocide.
